CONTROLLED PRACTICE CHECKLIST

Version 1.3 | November 8, 2026

OUR APPROACH: OBSERVE BEFORE MAKING CLAIMS
Practice is a planning exercise, not proof that a kit works in every emergency.

BEFORE
[ ] Choose a simple scenario, route, and duration within everyone's abilities.
[ ] Agree on stopping conditions and keep normal utilities as a fallback.
[ ] Never interrupt essential medical equipment, medication, safe water, or needed heating/cooling.
[ ] Use equipment only as instructed. Never use outdoor stoves/grills indoors.
[ ] Record starting supplies, actual cost, and total weight.

DURING
[ ] Find, lift, load, carry, open, and use supplies safely.
[ ] Check medication access, communication, assistive equipment, and pet needs.
[ ] Prepare a familiar meal and record added water, fuel, time, and waste.
[ ] Check the backup if the first option is unavailable; do not create a dangerous failure.
[ ] Record observations without generalizing beyond the actual conditions.
